Karachi police have put in place an extensive and highly strict security strategy to ensure the protection of the alleged “Cocaine Queen,” Anmol, also known as Pinky, amid growing concerns regarding potential threats to her life, according to a report aired by Dunya News on Sunday.
Police sources revealed that extraordinary arrangements have been made due to the sensitive nature of the case. More than 40 police officers and personnel have been assigned specifically for her security. The security team includes one Superintendent of Police (SP), two Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), three Station House Officers (SHOs), along with female police officials. The deployed personnel will carry out their duties in two separate shifts to maintain uninterrupted security around the accused at all times.
Authorities further disclosed that surveillance measures have been significantly enhanced. Continuous CCTV monitoring is being conducted inside and outside the lock-up area, while all surrounding locations, including entry and exit routes, are being closely watched to prevent any suspicious movement or security breach. In light of possible threats, police snipers have also been positioned on rooftops near the lock-up facility to respond immediately to any emergency situation.
Additional security personnel have been deployed at all key points, particularly around Karachi’s Baghdadi Police Station, where strict checking and monitoring procedures are being followed. Officials stated that no unauthorized individual will be allowed near the accused, and access to her will remain limited only to approved personnel.
Police authorities have also introduced strict precautionary measures regarding food and other items provided to the accused. Instructions have been issued that every food item must undergo a thorough inspection before being handed over to her in order to eliminate any risk. Moreover, to avoid disruptions caused by electricity failures, backup generators have been ordered to remain fully operational around the clock.
According to officials, the SP Lyari has been given the responsibility of supervising the transfer of the accused to and from court hearings. Meanwhile, the SDPO Baghdadi has been appointed to lead the overall security operation. The SHOs of Baghdadi, Risala, and Garden police stations have been assigned duties as ground commanders to ensure smooth coordination during the security process.
Rapid response units have also been placed on high alert to deal with any untoward incident or emergency situation. Police personnel deployed on duty have been instructed to immediately report any suspicious activity or unusual movement in and around the court premises and lock-up areas.
Sources further stated that the movement of unrelated individuals near the court and detention areas has been strictly restricted as part of the heightened security plan. Authorities believe these extraordinary arrangements are necessary considering the highly sensitive circumstances surrounding the accused and the possibility of serious security threats.
In addition, a special escort squad has been formed to safely transport the accused during court appearances. The squad will remain active throughout the legal proceedings to ensure maximum protection and prevent any potential attack or security lapse.
